Some people lose everything and still lift their hands in praise.
Others gain everything and still feel empty inside.
Two men in Scripture—Job and Solomon—teach us this truth loud and clear:
🟡 Job proved you can lose it all and still worship.
🔵 Solomon proved you can have it all and still feel lost.
Their lives speak volumes. And their stories remind us:
Having money is nice, but having the LORD in your heart is worth so much more.
Job: Worshiping Through the Wreckage
Job was wealthy. Respected. Blessed with a big family. Life was good—until it wasn’t.
In a single sweep of tragedy, he lost his children, his wealth, and his health. And yet… this was his response:
“The Lord gave, and the Lord hath taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.”
—Job 1:21 (KJV)
Job wept. He hurt. He even questioned. But he never stopped worshipping.
What kind of faith holds steady when the world falls apart?
The kind rooted in who God is, not just what He gives.
Solomon: Surrounded by Splendor, Starving for Meaning
Now let’s talk about Solomon—the wisest man to ever live.
He had it all: gold, fame, pleasure, palaces, women, and power. He built, bought, and experienced everything his heart desired.
But listen to what he says:
“Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought… and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit.”
—Ecclesiastes 2:11 (KJV)
He reached the top and found it empty.
He wasn’t short on riches. He was short on relationship with God.
Two Lives. One Lesson.
Whether you’re in a Job season or a Solomon season—here’s the truth:
💡 Stuff can’t save you. Riches can’t fill your soul. Only Jesus can.
You can be broke and blessed. You can be wealthy and weary.
Because what matters most isn’t what’s in your hand—it’s Who lives in your heart.
“Better is little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and trouble therewith.”
—Proverbs 15:16 (KJV)
The True Treasure
Let’s be honest: having money, a home, and stability? It’s a blessing.
But if that’s all you have, you’ll always be reaching for something more.
If you have the Lord, you already have everything you need.
“Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth… But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven.”
—Matthew 6:19–20 (KJV)
Earthly riches fade. But faith in Christ? That lasts forever.
If You Have Jesus, You Have More than Enough
When Job had nothing, he still had God.
When Solomon had everything, he still needed God.
Let that sink in.
No matter what season you’re in, hold on to this:
🌾 The Lord is your portion.
💖 The Lord is your peace.
🔥 The Lord is your treasure.
“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.”
—Psalm 73:25 (KJV)
You may not have everything this world offers—but if you have Jesus, you have more than enough.
