Childlike Faith: The Heart That God Welcomes

“Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.”
—Mark 10:15 (KJV)

There’s something about children that Jesus loves.
Not because they’re loud or playful or full of energy (though they are).
But because they carry something that many adults have lost along the way: pure, simple trust.

1. Children Don’t Complicate Things

When you tell a child, “We’re going to the park,” they don’t need a five-point plan or proof. They just grab their shoes and head to the door.

That’s what Jesus is talking about.

To receive the kingdom of God means to accept it freely, without needing all the answers first.
Not by earning it. Not by understanding it fully. But by believing Him—because He said so.

2. They Believe the Best About Their Father

A child doesn’t question if their parent will feed them or protect them.
They don’t lie awake at night wondering if they’re loved.

That’s how God wants us to come to Him.
Not as skeptics. Not as strangers. But as children—fully confident that our Father is good.

“If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your Father which is in heaven…” —Matthew 7:11 (KJV)

3. They’re Quick to Forgive, Quick to Love

Children don’t hold grudges long. They can be in tears one moment and laughing the next.

Jesus wants us to come with that kind of soft heart.
Not hard with bitterness. Not guarded by pride.
But open. Forgiving. Quick to trust again.

That’s how the kingdom works.

4. They Know They’re Dependent

A child doesn’t pretend to have it all together.
They know they need help. They know they can’t do everything on their own.

This is where faith begins: in admitting we need Him.

“Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”
—Matthew 18:3 (KJV)

God isn’t impressed by our strength.
He’s moved by our surrender.

5. They Receive Freely

You give a child a gift, they don’t say, “But I didn’t earn this.”
They just smile and say, “Thank you!”

That’s how salvation works.

It’s not about being good enough. It’s not about cleaning yourself up first.
It’s about receiving what Jesus already paid for—with a heart that says,
“Thank You, Lord. I believe.”

Final Thought: Let Go, and Come Like a Child

Maybe you’ve been overthinking it.
Trying to earn your way in.
Trying to figure it all out.

But Jesus said the way in is simple: Come like a child.
With trust. With humility. With open arms and an honest heart.

No performance. No pretending.
Just a Father waiting… and a child willing to believe.

“Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.” —Mark 10:15 (KJV)

Come simply. Come freely.
The kingdom is yours.
