A Woman of Extraordinary Faith: Lessons from Matthew 15:21-28

The Bible is filled with inspiring stories of faith, and one that stands out is the tale of the Canaanite woman in Matthew 15:21-28. This woman, whose name is not given, demonstrates remarkable persistence and unwavering belief in Jesus’ power.

Her Plea for Healing:

The woman’s daughter was tormented by a demon, causing her great suffering. Desperate for help, she sought out Jesus, pleading with him for healing. Her persistence was admirable, as she continued to beg even when Jesus initially seemed unresponsive.

Jesus’ Test:

Jesus initially tested the woman’s faith by comparing her to a dog, suggesting that he was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel. However, the woman’s response was remarkable: she humbly acknowledged her outsider status but expressed her belief that even the crumbs that fall from the master’s table are enough for a dog.

The Power of Faith:

Jesus was impressed by the woman’s unwavering faith and persistence. He commended her, saying,

"Woman, great is your faith! Be it done for you as you desire." (Matthew 15:28)

And her daughter was healed immediately.

Lessons We Can Learn:
