There are moments in life when the unexpected shakes us to our core. Tragedy strikes, prayers go unanswered—at least for now—and the quiet question begins to echo in our hearts: “Where is God in all of this?”
It’s a natural human reaction. Pain can cloud our view, and our first inclination is often to assume God has somehow stepped back or stopped caring. We begin to wonder: “If God truly loves me, why would He allow this?”
🌧️ When Doubt Creeps In
This is where many believers find themselves—caught in the tension between their knowledge of God’s goodness and the weight of their current suffering. Doubts creep in, subtle and persistent. The danger is not just the doubt itself, but what we do with it.
“Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
—Hebrews 10:38 (KJV)
Losing confidence in God’s love and care puts us in a dangerous position—not because He changes, but because our hearts may start drifting from the very One who can carry us through.
🔁 Run To God, Not Away
When you begin to doubt God, don’t run away—run to Him. Be honest in prayer. Pour out your heart like David did in the Psalms. He never hid his sorrow or frustration, but neither did he let go of God.
“In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.”
—Psalm 138:3 (KJV)
God can handle your doubts. He’s not intimidated by your questions. What He desires is relationship, even in your wrestling.
📖 Anchor Your Soul in His Promises
Faith is not wishful thinking. It is confident assurance that what God says is true, even when feelings say otherwise.
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
—Hebrews 11:1 (KJV)
When your confidence wavers, go to His Word. Open your Bible and remind yourself of the promises God has already fulfilled. He has never failed—and He won’t start now.
Remember how He was faithful to Noah, to Abraham, to Joseph, to Ruth, to David. Their stories didn’t make sense in the middle—but God wrote beautiful endings. Your story is still being written, too.
🔥 Build Faith Through Remembrance
Every fulfilled promise in Scripture becomes fuel for your faith.
- He promised peace—and gives it.
- He promised His presence—and never leaves.
- He promised salvation—and sent His Son.
- He promised eternal life—and it awaits.
God’s track record is perfect. Trust in it.
🕊️ A Gentle Reminder
Your feelings may shift like the wind, but God’s love for you never will.
“For I am the Lord, I change not…”
—Malachi 3:6a (KJV)
Let your doubts push you closer to Him, not further. Because even when your confidence shakes, He remains unshakable.
