Life is full of questions. We wrestle with confusion, delay, heartbreak, and moments that simply don’t make sense. And if we’re honest, we often wonder: When will I finally understand what God is doing? When will it all make sense?
📖 1 Corinthians 13:12 (KJV)
“For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.”
This verse reminds us that our understanding is incomplete—for now. But one day, everything will be clear. And in the meantime, we’re called to trust even when we don’t fully understand.
Let’s look at a Bible character who lived this truth: Joseph.
Joseph: From the Pit to the Palace
Joseph’s story (Genesis 37–50) is a masterclass in confusion turned to clarity—but not immediately.
He was:
- Betrayed by his brothers
- Sold into slavery
- Falsely accused
- Thrown into prison
For years, Joseph had every reason to ask, God, what are You doing? His dreams of greatness looked like distant, forgotten fantasies. Yet Joseph kept his faith and character, even when nothing made sense.
Then, God began to reveal the bigger picture.
Joseph was promoted in Egypt and became second-in-command. Eventually, he saved his family—and an entire nation—from famine. When he finally faced his brothers again, he said:
📖 Genesis 50:20 (KJV)
“But as for you, ye thought evil against me; but God meant it unto good…”
Joseph didn’t always understand what was happening—but he trusted the One who did.
What Can We Learn While We Wait for Clarity?
1. Faith Grows in the Fog
We grow most when we trust without all the answers. God doesn’t ask us to figure everything out—He asks us to follow Him faithfully.
📖 Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV)
“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
2. Delay Doesn’t Mean Denial
Joseph waited over a decade before his story turned. Just because you don’t see the full picture now doesn’t mean God isn’t working behind the scenes.
3. One Day It Will Make Sense
The promise in 1 Corinthians 13:12 is that “then shall I know even as also I am known.”
We’ll see the full picture in eternity. God isn’t hiding the answers from us to hurt us—He’s teaching us to walk by faith, not by sight.
Keep Trusting in the Mystery
When will we get it all figured out? Not today. Maybe not even in this lifetime. But God will make all things clear in His perfect time.
Until then, trust like Joseph. Live faithfully in the unknown. And remember—God sees the full picture, even when you don’t.
